Liam is officially SITTING up!

So, Liam sat up on his own for the first time last night. Kobe & I both threw our hands up in the air the first time it happened, then ran for the video camera to try it again. Judging by our reaction to him sitting, I can just imagine what kind of victory dance we'll be doing when he starts crawling, walking, and talking. lol... Here's what we got on camera!

Liam's 1st trip to the Houston Zoo...

Liam had his first visit to the zoo last Thursday (1 week ago today). It was my day off, so we decided to visit the zoo with Auntie M & Maddox. I was kind of nervous about going without Kobe since this was a pretty significant first for Liam, but the day turned out great & I'm so glad we were able to go! Now enough talking... here are some videos & pictures to map out our day for you!

So, he slept through a lot of it, but he did wake up for the most important moments. I am happy to say that Liam's first trip to the zoo was a success!

5 months old!

Liam is officially 5 months old as of 10 days ago! I can't believe it! In less than 1 month my little man will be SIX months old people... SIX!!!!! So, what new experiences did we encounter in Liam's 5th month you ask... lots of stuff!! First and foremost, we started feeding Liam one serving of baby food per day. So far he's tasted banana, sweet potatoes, sweet peas, pears, and carrots. We noticed that carrots are, by far, his favorite. His least favorite: sweet peas! Lol... We got the best "ewww" faces with sweat peas. We also started cloth diapering. For now we're only CDing part time (while he's home with us and on weekends). It has saved us a lot of money in just the one month that we've been doing it. We have 14 CDs so far! Liam also discovered his feet! He sucks on his own stinky little toes every now & then, but mostly just assists me & Kobe with diaper changes by holding his feet up for us. Liam also celebrated his first ever Valentine's day!! Unfortunately he had a bad case of bronchitis with a rather bothersome cough, so he was pretty miserable that day, but I managed to get one picture of him trying to smile. My poor baby!

Glad you stopped by to see Liam's progress! Stay tuned for his 6 months post later this month... we're working on sitting up & crawling. Judging by his progress, I think one of the two will be happening real soon.

Liam's Beloved Sock Monkey Hat

So about a month ago I ordered Liam a sock monkey hat from a fellow bumpie friend of mine from Indiana. She is super talented & all I had to do was show her a picture of what I wanted & the hat turned out perfect. Liam loves his hat! It has become a staple item in his wardrobe. He wears it practically everywhere we go! haha... Here are a few pics of Liam & his beloved sock monkey hat.

So Liam has started to try crawling! He doesn't get anywhere fast, but he definitely gets around after much determination & hard work. I video-taped him so you can see for yourselves. Enjoy! Don't mind the messed up sound on the first video... I obviously haven't figured out what part of my phone not to touch while video-taping. LOL

4 Months Old!!!

Hi Liam! 

Holy moly, I can't believe you are already 4 months old. When people told me that once you were here time would fly, I didn't know to what extent they were talking about. Friday, January 20, 2012 is the exact day you turned 4 months. We started the day by going to get your dreaded 4 month shots. Poor baby boy! Daddy & I were super excited to learn that you weighed in at 11 lbs 9 oz. We had just been at the doctor that Monday for your minor cold, so we were thrilled that you had gained 3 oz in 4 days. The doctor also told us that you were now old enough to eat cereal with your milk and that we could start giving you water to drink between meals. You know what that news meant your dad & I? It meant we must make a pit stop at Babies R Us to buy you your first box of cereal (not the kind you're thinking when you're reading this) & your first sippy cup.

Once we got home with your new grub & loot, we went to work! Your first go at the sippy cup was quite funny. You were really good at holding onto the cup handles, but you couldn't make it to your mouth. You kept bringing the cup up to your forehead. Lol!! Next was your first bowl of cereal! We bought you the organic Oatmeal flavored one. It was a small bowl of 1 tbsp of cereal with 2 oz of prepared formula. You were yelling because I was taking too long between spoonfuls. It was really watery so it made a huge mess, but you were really good at "chewing" it.
